In 2007, the SWAT Team was the title sponsor of the Annual Special Olympics Singles and Team/Unified Bowling tournaments, which took place January 14 and February 17. More than 500 Special Olympics Athletes participated in the tournaments.

As in years past, Parkvale’s SWAT Team was a major sponsor of this year’s Allegheny County Special Olympics Summer Games. The games took place May 12, 2007 at Baldwin High School. During the ceremonies, SWAT Team Leader Sandra Keicher presented the organization with a check for $5,000.
The SWAT Team and more than 60 employees and family members volunteered to staff the competition’s FunFest area. At Parkvale’s FunFest, Special-Olympians played carnival games for prizes, danced to music and collected autographs from celebrities such as the reigning Miss Teen USA and the Pirate Parrot. Approximately 600 Special Olympics Athletes took part in the games, which included various track and field events.
Throughout the year, the SWAT Team sells Sarris chocolate-covered pretzel rods and candy bars in each of its seven branch offices, collecting donations to help fund its charitable work. Seasonally, SWAT Team offices offer $1 Special Olympic Torches to walk-in clients to buy, sign, and post on the branch walls. In September 2007, the team will hold its Fourth Annual Miniature Golf Tournament at Cool Springs Golf Center to raise additional funds for the Special Olympics.
For details on how to contribute or participate, contact SWAT Team Leader, Brentwood Town Square Branch Manager & AVP Sandra Keicher at 412-882-8100. Thank you for helping Parkvale Bank support the Allegheny County Special Olympics.
