As part of the team’s ongoing efforts on behalf of CYS, Tri-Starz offices raise money by selling Sarris Candy products to Parkvale customers in their branch lobbies. All proceeds from these sales go toward supporting CYS.
On behalf of the Tri-Starz, Masontown Branch Manager and AVP Janet Michalik presents CYS Director David Madison with a donation of Wal-Mart gift cards worth $1,000.

This past March, Tri-Starz Team Leader Janet Michlik presented CYS Director David Madison with a $1,000 donation in the form of two $500 Wal-Mart gift cards. Donations in this form are very convenient for the agency because it does not have a cash fund to access.
The two cards will be used to stock much-needed supplies such as diapers, baby-wipes, formula and similar items that help the agency meet the needs of the children it serves. A portion of the donation may also be use to purchase a “dream item” for a foster child, such as a bicycle.
The Tri-Starz team participated in the CYS/Crime Victim Center Rally in April 2007. The annual rally, which highlights child abuse prevention, sexual assault awareness and victims’ rights, was held at the Fayette County Court House. Participants, including many area students, listened to various speakers and then peacefully marched through downtown Uniontown. The day ended with lunch and a Chinese auction. The auction’s primary prize was a new gas grill donated by the Tri-Starz Team.
In August 2007, The Team assembled 75 "Back to school" bags which included various items such as tablets, pens, pencils, crayons, folders, pencil sharpeners and paper clips.
As in years past, Parkvale’s Tri-Starz Team sponsored a Halloween party in October for approximately 75 local children, their foster parents and siblings at the Fayette County CYS building. The Tri-Starz provided refreshments, treats and fun-filled activities for the party. Former CYS Director Mimi McDonough (pictured standing on the right, in costume), along with Tri-Starz team members, posed for a photo during the 2006 party.
During early winter, the Tri-Starz spearhead a drive in each team office to solicit donations of cold weather gear such as mittens, hats and scarves. These items are then given to CYS for distribution to those children who need them most. The team was very successful collecting cold-weather clothes last winter and it plans to ask customers and employees to help out again in 2008.
